The wild world of animals
I’ve come across some pretty unusual things working as a wildlife investigator. Suitcases full of live reptiles, smugglers concealing bird eggs on their person (talk about budgie smugglers!) and traders offering big money for a bottle of snake poison or a jar of dried tiger penis. Just another day at the office!
Aside from the extraordinary, I’ve also noticed that stories about wildlife crime tend to focus more on the conservation side and less on the law enforcement aspect of this illegal trade. The true crime aspect of the fight to save our world’s most protected species is underreported and the efforts of the many investigators going above and beyond, sometimes putting their own life on the line, to tackle the scourge of trafficking deserves to be elevated.
So I’m launching The Wild Crime Report to amplify these efforts and give the greater public a better idea on just what happens in the weird and wild world of environmental investigation. The better informed we all are, the better chance we have of making a collective effort to kick these trade in the cajones and keep the animals in the wild.
And along the way, we might have a laugh or two.
Why Subscribe?
By joining the Wild Crime Report channel, I’m going to make sure I’m keeping you informed on what I think are the important stories and trends in the wildlife crime arena. I’ll ensure you are across the issues and current dynamics that myself and other investigators are focused on.
I’m also going to start publishing additional longer articles in the coming year with the potential to interview wildlife experts via the Podcast. By subscribing you’re making sure you aren’t out of the loop. And you’re a bloody legend at the same time.
